Cline Falls Ranch and Camp Tamarack have come together to offer the public an exciting new riding program. We welcome riders ranging from those that are just beginning to enter the wonderful world of horses to those that have a lot of experience and/or just need help with their horse.

As part of this new program, Camp Tamarack and Jessie Daniels, Horse Program Director at Camp Tamarack, have brought their 33 horses to stay with us for the winter. Please come meet Jessie and the Camp Tamarack horses!

Jessie has been committed to horses since she was eight years old. She grew up around horses, but it wasn't until her family sold their farm that the interest really blossomed. She went to her mom and asked for a horse. Her mom said if she took riding lessons for one year and stayed committed then she would buy her a horse. One year later, even more horse crazy, her mom knew that it was time to start shopping.

"Major" was probably the 10th horse that they went to look at. All of the other horses had one problem or another, yet "Major" was perfect. He was a 12 year old Flea Bitten Gray unpapered Arabian Gelding. Jessie and Major immediately connected, there was no question. He was a surprise present for her ninth birthday.

From that day forward Jessie has done every horsey thing she could get her hands on. Jessie participated in 4-H and Pony Club for many years. She has also competed on the Cascade High School Equestrian Team, and was involved in the Northwest Buckskin Club, Oregon Horseman's Association, and American Quarter Horse Association.

After high school Jessie went on to Linn Benton Community College to study horse management. In that she studied subjects such as Horse Science, Diseases and Parasites, Breeding and Foaling, Young Horse Training, Equine Business Management, and many more. During that time she was an employee at the Linn Benton Horse Center. She also helped out with the LBCC Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team practices and meetings.

Upon completion of her degree she was accepted into a program called Kentucky Equine Management Internship Program. KEMI consisted of going to Kentucky for 6 months and being placed on a commercial thoroughbred breeding farm. The work was six days a week and weekly seminars on topics regarding the thoroughbred racing industry. At the end the interns did a public presentation on a controversial topic within the industry. Jessie was placed on a 1500 acre farm called Pin Oak Stud in Versailles Kentucky where her role there was to help during the breaking season. She was one of three riders hand picked by farm managers out of the 16 interns. During her tenure she was involved in breaking 17 yearling fillies and 17 yearling stud colts. Jessie's topic for her presentation was on the Unites States Animal Identification Program. In Kentucky she learned a lot about the racing industry and a lot about how to have a good strong seat on a young horse.

Since then Jessie has worked for many Equine Professionals. In 2005 she was certified through the Horsemanship Safety Association as a Beginner to Advanced English and Western Instructor. She has experience in Hunt seat and Hunt Seat over Fences, Cross Country, Dressage, English and Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Trail, Drill Team, Team Penning, Gaming (Gymkhana), Young Horse Training and general horse training. She also has a lot of work experience in the Equine Industry and knowledge of the physical and emotional animal. Jessie is committed to being a lifetime student and always trying to learn more.
